GaRRS Goes to the VO Atlanta Conference 2025

March 22, 2025 – Atlanta, GA

Georgia Radio Reading Service, Inc. (GaRRS)—now evolving into its new identity as Vocal Point—attended the VO Atlanta Conference 2025 the weekend of March 22, thanks to a generous sponsorship that provided conference access for a couple of team members. This opportunity marked a significant moment to expand awareness of GaRRS’ mission and build new relationships within the voice-over community.

Held annually in Atlanta, VO Atlanta is the largest and most recognized voice-over conference in the country, welcoming voice actors, producers, engineers, and educators from across the globe. Known for its collaborative spirit and top-tier training, the conference offers a platform for professional development and industry connection. For GaRRS, it was also a space to highlight the crucial role voice talent can play in supporting accessibility for individuals with print disabilities.

Throughout the weekend, GaRRS engaged with hundreds of professionals, sharing its story as Georgia’s only free radio reading service for the blind and print-impaired community. Attending VO Atlanta allowed the team to have meaningful conversations about inclusive narration, volunteer opportunities, and the growing intersection between voice work and public service.

One of the most inspiring highlights of the weekend was the chance to connect with Marian Mills, a prominent professional voice actress whose work spans major campaigns and narration projects. The team also had the rare opportunity to meet Nathalia Hencker, the voice-over artist who dubbed the character Pocahontas for international audiences—a powerful reminder of the global impact of storytelling through voice.

In addition, GaRRS staff attended a compelling workshop led by a group of talented women who presented on the importance of accessibility tools and inclusive practices in the voice-over industry. Their session shed light on how voice actors and production teams can better serve people with disabilities through thoughtful narration, adaptive scripts, and accessible formats.

As GaRRS evolves into Vocal Point, something bigger is brewing behind the mic. These conversations weren’t just casual chats—they were sparks. Sparks that lit the path to a future where accessibility takes center stage in the creative world, and voices with purpose find bold new platforms to shine.

VO Atlanta 2025 wasn’t just a conference—it was the prologue to a new chapter. One filled with fresh partnerships, boundary-breaking ideas, and a louder-than-ever mission. What’s next for Vocal Point? Let’s just say… the best is yet to be heard.
